video taping for warranty work?
If I understand what you are proposing, it might not be a bad idea to have such a tape if the issues are not resolved and further action is not necessary. However, if most of these issues are easy to duplicate, I would go in and have them take it for a drive and see for themselves, keeping quiet about the tape. Putting them on the defense may not be the best way to get them on your side. IMHO. Good luck.
I had an issue where the ignition switch "sticks" and when you remove the key from the ignition, the car thought the key was still in there so the dumbass chime goes off when you open the door.
It NEVER did this at the dealer. Even when they kept it for a whole day to try out. I took it home from the dealer and the damn thing did it when I got it in the garage.
I grabbed a video recorder and taped the malfunction and went back to the dealer the next day. At first they were not interested, and claimed they need to witness the malfunction in order to do warranty work. Still, the service manager talked to a tech and the tech looked at the tape and diagnosed the problem right away. 24 hours later the parts were in and the car's ignition is problem-free.
For your problem, unless the sounds are really loud, the recorder might not pick up on all the noises. In my case it was obvious. A tape where the idiot chime is going off with no key in the ignition is a good sign something isn't right with the car.

Actually all the problems you mentioned are well known (early) S2000 issues that were identified and documented. There are TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins -- which are not the same as warranty repairs) for all of them. Do a search on this board and you will find all of them discussed multiple times. As long as these problems are easy to reproduce in the presence of the service advisor or mechanic, it is not necessary to video tape anything. As rworne said, you only need to video tape something that is not easy to reproduce. Good luck.
