Default Vin Number Plates

I got my hardtop sitting in my guest room, waiting for replacement hardware to arrive and it got me thinking. Is there a place that can replicate a matching VIN# plate or decal that I can add to my hardtop. I know the real Mugen tops have the authenticity badge on them. Anyone ever tried this idea? I'd prefer a badge/plate like the ones on our engines but a sticker will do. Also makes it easier to identify incase it gets stolen which is highly unlikely where I live. No one cares about Honda's around here and she's always locked up and only taken out on nice days.

Honda provided a VIN plate with the hardtop if you ordered it with the car. It was an oval peal and stick badge that affixed under the rear glass inside frame.

I don't think my CR hardtop has a VIN on it anywhere. I do have a serial number etched into the rear glass though.

There are places that make OEM appearing VIN tags for wreck repair and restoration purposes. Here's one such place--

http://www.autodatalabels.com

I've never dealt with them and they may not have what you want. there may be others--try doing a search for "replacement VIN"

But as a theft deterrent, a ViN sticker isn't good as the thief can just peel it off. Have your VIN # etched into the glass like goldenfri has done if you do ever want to make it easier to identify in case it's stolen.

Honda only included matching Vin numbers on early hardtops. I bought a used oem hardtop in 2008 and found the original car sold with it about 2 years later that a friend of mine happened to own.
