Default Vinyl or Fabric?

What is the material of the soft top?
And, how often would you treat it (for sun or rain)?
Just wondering!

It is PVC...vinyl. How to treat is a source of much debate. Try doing a search or browsing around in the car care section.

I personally just wash it lighty with the car and put a bit of Vinylex on it once a month or so.

Yep, it's vinyl and I use 3M's 303 cleaner and protectant. Works good for me. Check www.properautocare.com for a variety of products.

I agree with Dario; 303 Aerospace Protectant is designed for vinyl and works very well on the top and prevents ultraviolet damage as well. The water really beads up!!

I also use this product on all of the vinyl interior surfaces as well; it requires a wipe down after applying to get the sheen or finish back to a mat finish and this protects from ultraviolet damage to the interior as well.

I'm about to use Meguiar's Leather Wipes; any input??

Just FYI: Lexol is for leather...Vinylex is made by Lexol and is for vinyl.

Does 303 attract dirt and dust? Does it leave a greasy film? Does it leave the roof shiny?

No; 303 DOES NOT leave a greasy, dirt attracting film of any kind on the interior and dash and does not leave the top looking "plastic" at all. In fact, the top looks more uniform in finish with the 303 than without it.

I called their corporate offices in CA and had a long talk with one of their employees that had worked with them for 20+ years and the product is for real!!
