A visit to Comptech...
i had my doubts about how much a SC would elp small displacement engine, but I recently drove a friends sc teg type r. Te type r hauled a$$ and whopped the s2k when we did a quick run. I can't imagine how s2k will feel with a SC.
How does the engine sound with the addition of the super charger?
Does the Comptech airbox require cutting the hood like the Mugen cold air intake? It looks pretty well integrated and low, so I wouldn't think so. All the pics crop the tip of the hood off so I thought I'd ask.

Zoinks,
No cutting is required, it fits neatly under the hood without any interference problems... as for the sound, it had an almost faint hollow whooshing sound while idling with the hood open. When I went for the drive, I couldn't tell anything aside from Comptech exhaust... maybe a low growl of an intake but nothing like a turbo whine or the higher pitch sound the CAI my friend has in her bimmer makes.
Stealthy!

Just got back from Sacramento, had a great time guys. Thanks especially to Marcus for setting it up & Mike at Comptech for putting a couple of hours aside to answer questions, give rides, and give us all a cooks tour. (Got a copy of the new Comptech catalog for you Marcus, email me your mailing address)
Thoughts on riding in the Supercharged Comptech S2000: It's a great mod in that it doesn't alter the nature of the car, just enhance it, stronger but not different. Still very drivable, but more power across the board. Love the looks of the Comptech cat back but it's louder than I like, and frankly I like the noises of the supercharger and would prefer to hear it over the exhaust. With the hood up it has a very mechanical unique sound to it. Baaad! As you can see in the photos the ugly blue hose (prototype only) is now plain black, and Mike said that the superchargers they are shipping have polished bodies, so it has a very quality looking integrated installation. What hits you first when you raise the hood and see it in person is the size of the supercharger body sitting in front of the engine (looking mean). The second thing is how much space is available in front when you remove the air box, and how nicely integrated the carbon fiber supercharger air box fits.
Thanks again Mike.
