I remember reading that post on s2kca a year and a half ago, before I went over to Japan and about a year before I got my S.

Is anyone going to set a trip up?
I would be more than happy to setup the trip ... does anyone have any contacts?

Better yet, does anyone speak Japanese? I have been to Japan before but as soon as I ventured out of the main areas I was screwed (nobody could speak english / no english signage / and I definitley couldn't understand Japanese or read it!)

The controllers of each organization had different ideas on how to serve the S2000 community, and the personalities of each didn't get along very well so a compromise wasn't possible. This was several years ago - I'm not involved with the management of either organization so I have no clue if any sort of reconciliation has been attempted since, or what happened if there was.
