Voodoo knob is awesome!
The Ti knob is heavier than the Al.
I had the prototype Voodoo Al knob on the shifter for a time and noted some extra notchiness and I missed a couple of 2-3 upshifts (probably my fault and none contributed by the knob, but what the heck, I was looking for anything that would help).
I switched to the Voodoo Ti knob and found the throw effort 'decreased' or imo improved due to the momentum of the heavier knob through the shift movement.

Originally posted by voodoobob It raises the fulcrum of the shift lever slightly, which shortens the throw at the top of the lever arm more dramatically per inch than a lowering of the shift knob by the same distance at the top of the lever does. Since the overall length of the lever isn't changed, the short shifter actually LENGTHENS the throw at the bottom of the lever to offset the shortening at the top, so that the connection to the linkage travels the same distance.[/B]
Thanks for your input on the knobs.

A thread back from the dead!
I've changed back to the OEM knob after several months with Muz' countersunk aluminum..just for the sake of variety.
The leather band on the stock knob (I have an '02) just feels so good, no matter what the weather...but I really miss that short, crisp throw. The shift pattern now feels clumsy in comparison.
I'll probably switch back one of these days.
Either way, shifting gears in this car is one of life's little pleasures!
