Default Vortech Experience at the Track

I had my Vortech kit on for over a few months. The car runs daily and I run it hard every chance I get. The only other performance bolts are DC ss header and Veilside Teardrop exhaust. As far as cooling are Spoon parts and Hondata insulator. The car still run on stock clutch(Still holding ).
We got to the track with a few fellow s2 owners. I was only going to watch the event, since I don't own my driver license no more(thanks to Virginia DMV) and I don't have much experience at the track. I had a friend to drive my car for fun time slips. He had never driven my car at the track or we had anyther else other than the stock S02 tires. We had two runs. The best time was 13.2@108mph. The car was feathered off the line. Next time, hopefully we can get some good lunches and this is a 12 sec car guaranteed. There were no tuning done to the car. I only dynoed at 280@the wheels. I will try to tune my car again and hope to get more power. Over all I was satisfied with the result. I think this is a great comparison against the Car and Driver article.

here's a few other link to couple of the guys that were there and a video of m777erlin's run.

Jeff that's great news! Both you and Mikey. Can't wait till you tune it and work on the launches and get it into the 12s where it should be.

I can't even think about going to the drag strip...right now I get mad wheel hop/spin in 1st and 2nd gear with a 3000rpm launch!! I think it is because of my J's Racing 4.44 gears. I need some suspension to hold the wheels down and some sticky wider tires Once I get those done I'll take my baby to the strip and see what I can put down on lightweight 17" rims.

I can't answer your question. But I do know wheel hop could be contributed by the stock suspension. That's another reason why people get aftermarket springs with stiffer spring rates to give it a more aggressive bite when the car is being lunched.

That is why I said "I can't even think about going to the drag strip"

Working on the suspension part now. That and some wider tires and a Kaaz differentail, maybe some new axels too.

Sorry but I have to agree with the difference of a track and a drag strip.

Somehow navigating a road circuit gives me more thrills.

I'd heard that softer suspension on drivewheels (bump) and stiffer up front (rebound) would help with the hopping. Gotta get adjustable shockers for that though
