Default VTEC different in cooler weather?

I haven't been able to drive my car regularly for the last several weeks. Now that I can drive it again, the weather is cooler (50's vs 70-90+). It seems to me like the VTEC transition is much less noticable. My MY02 only has about 2200 miles on it, so I'm still not that familiar with how changing conditions affect the car's performance and behavior. Does cooler weather change the VTEC transition in a noticable way, or is there possibly something I need to have a mechanic look at?

Maybe the low end of the power band is improved enough that the VTEC transition isn't as noticable??? I don't feel like it's lacking power, it's just that it's not as obvious when it hits VTEC.

I have a MY '02 and it's in the 40s here now. I haven't driven for three weeks and yes, VTEC is crisper now. Colder is always better. Heat and humidity sucks.
