VTEC in higher gears?
I just got back from a long road trip in my stock '04 AP2, through CA's Owens Valley, across Nevada & up through Idaho into Montana; returning via Hwy 15 through Salt Lake City, AZ & NV. I had opportunity to explore some remote highways where enforcement is rare, and it led me to wonder whether & to what extent the stock F22C can pull or approach redline in 5th or 6th. I touched 120 once and saw that it was still accelerating, but I chickened out. I've never taken mine beyond barely into VTEC in 4th.
Just wondering.

i dont think i even broke 100 in my S. theres no real need to go that fast. but i know that people do try top speed. just make sure theres no one on the road and you dont push your limit and lose control.

I've been at this since the early '70s. I think I can pick my spots. Maybe you should find yours.

THe car is drag limited somewhere in the 155-160 range... which is well into VTEC in 6th. The only reason they wont go faster is lack of HP, with more power they can hit the 6th gear rev limit which I heard is over 170

Actually about 167 in an AP1 but that's splitting hairs.

According to this web site it(AP 2) will hit 151 or 155. I've had mine up to 132 and that was fast enough for me, its not a fast car but a damn good handling car.
