Default VTEC light

I just got done installing my VTEC light. I think its so cool. I'm in the process of building a cutom housing out of fiberglass.
I know many of you think its stupid, but many of you think adding anything to your cars is stupid, so honestly i dont care.
If anyone wants to know how just PM me.

What does it do?
I assume flash when you hit VTEC. Is it a Tack-o-lantern style shift light from a Rustang, or what? What exactly are you accomplishing with this mod? I am involved in the import scene, but I have never heard of a "VTEC light". For the most part you'll know when VTEC hits without the light.

Basically it's just a light that lights up the whole time you're in VTEC I believe.
I've seen some people sell a kit that lights up the word VTEC
in place of one of your dummy lights.
Or some shop sold a tube of neon w/ VTEC written on it.

u'll often see ppl ask about this mod in civic forums =-X

even though u "know" when vtec is gonna kick it, some ppl just like putting it in for looks. *shrug*

anyway basically when u guys hit 6000 rpm or wahtever it is, the ecu send a signal to the vtec solenoid opening up the camshafts, so what u do is find that wire, and tap it to an led, that's about it.

and no i don't have this mod

I have several V-TECH lights. They are all the L.E.D. bars after 6,000 RPM...

I think the point is for fun. There is no functionality except to let you know for sure that your gasoline is going down as fast at your bars are going up on the Tach...it's like the turbo boost light on Knight Rider's Kitt.....

WOW
WARING
The following is an opinion. It does not neccessarily aply to anyone or any topic.

Everyone on this board is so synical. Some of you seem to think you drive ferriaris or lamborginis. You need to realize that you drive a honda. Granted it the nicest honda ever built, but a honda non-the less. You all seem to think your better than the civic or accord owners, just because you drive an S. You think your above the "rice burners" just because you drive the most expensive honda ever. I know that i am going to get flamed because of what i'm writing, but i dont care. I'm growing tired of the attitudes of some people out there. Some of you need a wake up call, consider this it.

Now on to the light, i AM involved in the import sceen, so i know!
As i said before it is a light that goes on when the VTEC engages. Its nice to have just so you know. Those of us who drive our cars like they were ment to be driven know how useful this $5 mod can be. Those who dont know or dont understand poke fun, because they drive an S2000! By the way, dont you dare call it a "stook". The S2000 is too classy, to refined, to devine to be called any thing as imature as a "stook" (it must have been those darn rice burning, civic owners who call us "stooks)
[yes i know this is a rant. I drive my s2000 daily, and i get tired of people on this board and their general attitudes. I could be quite, but i'm not one to stand by and watch]
