One of the most popular mods on the del sol was a relatively easy on. We would create a relay to the dash board with a small led that would flash on when VTEC kicked in. Some of us had custom dash kits that actually had a spot for the light and would actually say "VTEC". It was a pretty cool modification that would be pretty easy to do on the S2000. Simply run the relay from the ecm under the passenger side carpet. It involved splitting a few wires. One of you S2000 accessory gurus should come up with a great design. maybe integrating it into our dash.

Easy to do, tap the Vtec fuse with a wire lead. DONE ! With the wire you can hook up a LED or something, the VTEC actually appearing in LETTERs is a different story!

Nice thinking!!! Here is an idea...all you have to do is whatever link to the ecu or fuse like you said(need more detail to actually hook it up my self) then get or make a tine boxwith a light in it and make it a plastic(clear) or glass cover and then on black tape have someone with skills cut out v-tec and then when the light is on it will read that, i got the idea cause for the type r they sell a sticker you put on the third brake light that when you break it says TYPE R, hope it helped!

You got the box I have a suggestion for the label.

At work we use a heat laminator. A local copying shop may have one.

Get thin colored paper(of your hot color choice) print out an assortment of fonts sizes and styles on the sheet on your laserwriter or inkjet(contrast color lettering???).

Laminate the sucker, cut out whatever looks best(with scissors) to fit the light source.

Voila!...violet!...volga!...uh whatever.

y2ks2k, can you post or email me more detailed directions on the VTEC indicator for the del Sol? That would be an intersting mod on my 94 Sol. It's difficult to tell sometimes where the DS VTEC kicks in, at least compared to the S2000.

Forget the LED, how about putting together a little DAC decoder and speaker from Radio Shack which says in the Star Trek computer voice (Rodenberry's wife) "V-TEC Engaged" when the light comes on :-) Actually, I doubt that would be that difficult since they do make kits for creating simple DAC decoders...

Ok, so it would get annoying after a while...maybe add a toggle switch...hahaha. Ahh, or the ultimate would be to combine that with a color change (from red to green for example) of all the LCD display- but I supposed thats completely out of the question.
