VTEC not activating Q?
Alright, I was leaving my house yesterday, the car had been driven about 2 hours earlier and still had residual heat. I go to get on the main road by my house but had to jump on it. I realized just prior to making the turn that my coolant temp just reached 2 bars and when I punch it, right at 6500 RPMs, it acts as though a fuel cut came on. If anyone has hit an ECU controlled top speed in car, that is what it felt like. So my Q is this.......I know VTEC requires sufficient oil pressure to activate, so is there also a safety feature built in that will not let you go VTEC until the car is properly warmed up? Thanks in advance.

IF you VTEC before you hit full temp, the car will cut you off before you do damage to your car. Warm it up to full heat.
Full heat lets all the oil/diffy/tranny to properly lubricate the components.

REMOVED VTEC? You bought the car for the Vtec.
