Is that true that its now 7 bars??? I've never tried it until I had the car warmed up to my own satisfaction so never had to count the bars.

Ap1's show fully warmed up at three bars. Ap2's show fully warmed up at 8 bars. I came out of a movie theatre last summer. The car was still showing 2 bars when I fire her back up. By the time I got to the freeway feeder road, I was showing 5 bars and really wasn't thinking about it. I had a hole to merge into but it was one of those "do it or loose it" situations. I punched it, shifted to second at 6k and let it go for VTEC after that. The car shut me down big time. The tach was bouncing between 6500 and 7000 rpms.

I would have thought it would have been Ok. I was wrong!

Yeah, that shit will scare you real quick when you aren't expecting it. Makes you think you broke something. I wonder why they decided to go so conservative on the second gen's? Better safe than sorry though. BTWIFHIWIDKIA!!!!!! WDPUTATFT?!?!?!?!?

Its not "so conservative" its just that the bars are bigger on the AP1s ... So 1 bar on the AP1 is equal to about 3 bars on the AP2s.

If you look at the dash on an AP2 versus an AP1 you'll see what I mean.

If you have modifry's ECT on an AP2, it's 5 bars until VTEC and 10 bars until full temp
