VTEC without warming up

Default VTEC without warming up

i didnt warm up my car and i hit VTEC... then i heard the rev limiter come on at about 7000 rpm...do you guys think it damaged anything and why did the rev limiter come on?

I don't think u damaged anything. Many cars limit their revs less when the engine is cold. The new m3 has a variable redline where the tach's redline changes as the engine gets warmer. So, I wouldn't worry about it. I think Honda engineers did the same as BMW, just that it doesn't show on the tach as the M3.

No damage done. The ECU was doing its job and protecting the engine from its owner!

Don't VTEC until at least three bars are showing.

USE THE SITE SEARCH FEATURE.

This has to be the single most common subject I've seen on this board! I can't believe how many people over-rev a cold engine and then wonder why it's acting strangely, this is criminal behavior
