Waiting to put on cover

Waiting to put on cover
How long do you wait, after driving your car to put a cover on? I've been waitng approximately 10 -30 minutes after driving car to put cover back on, to ensure exhaust pipes and engine have enough time to cool off. Is this absoultly neccesary, or can i put cover immediately after driving car.
