Want to learn AEM EMS Tuning
So I am looking to get an AEM EMS soon and want to learn to be able to tune my car for all future mods (including FI at some point). So basically who do I talk to and where do I go? Does AEM offer classes or anything like that? Or am I looking at going to a mechanics/technical school in order to learn this?
If anyone has a good idea of where to go let me know. Thanks.

Here, thise company teaches everything you need to know to tune. http://www.efi101.com/
The AEM is just the tool you use. The knowledge is generic.

EFI101 is great. The basic and advanced courses are about $1700 IIRC. Both are worth it.
I also suggest reading the Bosch Automotive Handbook from the SAE.
For something free, download and read as many EMS users manuals and tuning guides as possible. I recommend starting with AEM and then working your way to other manufacturers such as Electromotive.

Can anyone suggest any good books on tuning. I would love to learn how to tune so I can street tune my car once the time comes.
I'm going to have to check out that course as well, seems pretty sweet but I rather have some reading material first before I drop the cash for a full course.

I guess you can always resort to street tune.
I admire your spirit, guys, but learning how to tune a car takes time and experience. I think your best bet is to find a tuner in your local regions and talk with him/her about it.
Of course, filling the need to tune your own car is a damn fine motivation.
Good luck.

Luckily I have some small connections and possibly the rare free dyno time. However the most they can really offer as far as information is letting me watch during a few tunings which will help with some of the basics but not quite as specific as I would like. Part of the problem is that they are a Porsche garage interested in tuning mostly track/cup cars so they don't care a whole lot about cold start issues.
I have read the AEM EMS manual twice through as well as some tuning guides. Now I am busy playing with the software and downloading random tunings and seeing the difference based on mods that were added. It would be a big help if anyone has maps of different s2k setups so that I can compare more specifically for our car.
I guess it's time to look into those classes.
And maybe I'll buy a cheap beater somewhere that is supported by AEM EMS plug and play harness so that I can practice tuning that before I try it on the S.
Thanks for all the help guys!
