Default Warranty question

I am considering purchasing a used stook. The car has less than 1000 miles on it. I was wondering how Honda handles the warranty when the car is sold to another person. Is the warranty still valid? Does it need to be re-certified? Any help would be of great help. Thanks

I believe you just go to any dealership service dept. and do a change of ownership so you're on the "system" as the new owner. At that time, have them run the car's VIN to make sure that there is no reason why the warranty is void. There may or may not be a charge for this. Phone a few dealers and find one that'll do it for free (with the promise you'll go there for service). At least here, this can be as high as $100.00 registration fee. Check around where you live. Also, if the car was ever written off, eventially Honda will discover this and NO warrantee even if you transfered it properly so check to see about its history.

Here's the link....all you need is the VIN#. By the way all bets are off if it's an outta country car. The warranty transfer highlighted here is for US to US transfers only. Happy hunting:
