warrenty question *DING*
okay question is i bought a S2000 at Carmax with 16k miles now it has 32k took it to honda and find out my squeaking noise. Honda say the car is under warranty, but under a different which is the pervious owner. and will not honor me since i am the 2nd owner.
since i figured there a loop hole in the case where i purchase the car from carmax without warrant, but the pervious owner did not cancel the Honda warranty.
Would the honda warranty still be in my Favor?
Need Answers ASAP thanks you

I just looked though my warranty booklet and couldn't find any language about warranty transferring, though I am 99 % sure it does. Since it DOES state that the warranty is good for 36 mo/36k miles, and doesn't say, "only for original owner", I don't think they can say it's not valid for you. Check out Honda's website, because I think at one point I saw a statement there that it's good for all owners of the car, as long as it's within the time/mileage limits.
Actually, now that I re-read it, I'm not sure which warranty you mean... Are you talking about a warranty provided by Carmax? If so, that is a different story. BUt you should have your Honda warranty, unless your car is over 3 years old (I can't see if your avatar says it's age, in this reply mode).

Based on your sig, you have a MY2000, which is out of the 3 year warranty period. The dealership probably saw an extended warranty under the previous owner which does not apply to you since the previous owner probably cashed out on the ext warranty when he sold it, or it is not transferrable?
well i just got back with honda and all i can say is they want to rip a hole in my butt
they say its the rear diff (replace for new 3920 + tax with out labor, used is 1950 + tax with out labor) which i think its bull crap. well the manufactured warranty is up the shit creek, but it also has a 8yr 80,000miles power train warranty. The third mechanic said that it should no matter what. i think its the barring that is dry. when its cool, no sound what so ever. When driving for over 15 mins its warmed up were it sounds the squeaking from the rear driver side. took it to Advance transmission in Greenville, SC and they said if that, a little LUBE will do the trick on monday. SO i'll let you guys know what happens monday.
