Got "the call" from Honda just now. Turns out I snapped the back left axle (shaft?). They quoted me $998 to get a new axle, and have it over-nighted. I'm going to call Comptech later (they're not open yet) to see what they think about this.

Holy Sh*t! I know the S2K is not a dragster (as we have been reminded many times), but dragging shouldn't be snapping axles.

I am interested now in the erudite analysis that is sure to be posted. Wonder if the diff or type of diff we have comes into play for something like this

Yeah, the service rep. mentioned that they'd have to install the new axle before they could be sure that the differential was 'OK'.

That's crazy. Is there any way to get a stronger axel or 2? That means that by doing clutch dropps I now have to worry about one more thing breaking. They truely made this a track car and not a drag car I guess.

I would try to get the part online to save yourself some cash.

They (Honda) won't cover it under warranty?
