Water inside the trunk maybe?
Hey guys just wondering if you guys have had the same issue and how to address it. Im in orlando fl and it rains allot overhere and every time it pours afterwards when i start driving and turning i hear water spalshing somewhere in the back. I wonder how is it getting inside the car and do i have to take it out or it drains by itself. This is my first s2k and first convertible as well. Thx for the comments and advice. Ps my son has an rsx type s and i kind of heard the same thing the other day when i drove it.
You might be hearing fuel in the tank. The tank is located directly behind the seats at mid back height.
If you think you have water then;
1) remove the tool kit from the boot and check for water at the bottom
2) remove the boot lining to check for water at the bottom underneath the lining.
If you have water you need to identify the source, most common source is the black plastic vent in between the boot pit and the rear bumper.
I have had water leak from the soft top due to drainage holes being clogged. However this is a big task vs the plastic vent.

Pull the trunk/boot tool kit and check for wet carpet at the very bottom. Check the drains. The few times I've been in a "no touch" car wash I can hear the water gurgling and flowing down the drains but the trunk stays dry. Mis-installed replacement roofs will flood the trunk.

The drains are underneath the hinge/mounts for the soft top. Just look directly beneath there and you should see the drain holes.

I think that if you have water in the trunk, it is more likely to be either the rear vent or a mis-installed top that is causing it rather than the tubes being clogged. Of all of the leaking trunks I've run into so far, none of them was caused by clogged tubes.

The tool well in the trunk can fill with water from a few places. There are a few threads about water in the trunk (or boot). The ones I remember are:
1. A leak around the trunk vent. It's located on the back wall of the trunk under the liner.
2. A clogged roof drain or drains. There's one on each side below the top just behind where the roof meets the door windows.
3. Improperly installed rain rails. If the soft top has been replaced, there are rails under the back of the roof that direct water away from the trunk. If they are not installed correctly, water will leak into the trunk.
If you see that the liner is wet under the tool tray, you'll want to remove the lining in the trunk to dry it out. If it isn't fixed the bottom of the trunk well will rust. Some owners have drilled holes in the bottom of the well to allow water to drain.
