i remember someone mentioning on H-A.net about a good waterproof car cover, because honda's isn't waterproof. What is the vendor, because I'm looking for covers for both my S2000 and 98 accord coupe.

I bought the covercraft Weathershield cover from Top Notch Auto. If you are a member of S2000fans.com, you can get 10% off. I have it on right now and is beading up the water and rolling off the cover as we speak. Folds up easy enough to fit into the trunk with the boot cover (tonneau). The cost was $204 including shipping and the 10% discount. Took a few weeks to make. The fit is very good, they have a condom for the antenna and side mirror pockets. Fits under the lip for the front spoiler to the underside of the rear.

I highly recommend it.

I've got one coming from Top Notch Auto ( www.topnotchauto.com ) and they beat another place's price by $70 for the exact same Covercraft Weathershield cover.

Barry
check out www.covercraft.com about the Weathershield fabric.

Don't know how good "water proof" is because it means the cover can't breath. I worked with they guys at Wolf Automotive in Orange County CA. They used my SK2 as a pattern and made a great cover. They offer many different materials. My cover is made of "Noah" material. It's not water proof but breaths to let trapped moisture out. For more info check out
http://www.wolfautomotive.com/

Wolf also make patterns for floor mats, dash cover and a front end bra (without license plate).

Great group of people. No, I don't work there but did get all my stuff free for them using my S2K as a pattern.

I was looking too, and found an old message posted by Black7564 but couldn't get into the message. Which message board is which now anyway? I'm going to call TopNotch Auto, but does anyone have any more tips on winter (outdoor) storage? I'm in wet PA near the Delaware River-just sold my house and now no garage! Alice

Alice,

Read my post above in this thread. It has the retailer and the model of cover. Here's the link to the different covers Top Notch Auto has to offer: http://www.topnotchauto.com/car_covers.html You get a 10% discount if you belong to S2000fans.com. S2000fans.com might have a new name (S2ki.com?). If you ask where S2000fans.com went, some of the officers are here...
I highly recommend the weathershield.

There's a great comparison of the various materials at thewww.covercraft.com site and it includes a comparison of "Noah" and "Weathershield" materials. You can get Covercraft in either material.

If you want "waterproof" buy a plastic sheet and suffer. Weathershield and Noah both breathe and shed water kind of like Gore-tex. A waterproof cover will accumulate moisture under it and stain the car. Just like your roof on your house has to breathe, your car cover has to breathe.

Just as Rick had warned me the Weathershield isn't soft inside. It's not lined. So I am also getting a "used" Honda cover for garage storage from someone on this board. The Top Notch Auto folks said Weathershield was non-abrasive and would not damage the finish.

Okay Barry--leather shift boot cover and shift knob cover, console cover, Mingster's dead pedal, Weathershield cover, Honda cover, speakers on hold at the stereo shop, Australian liner for the top's well, hmmmmm now if I only had a car. Maybe I can inflate balloons and put them under the car cover and pretend I have it already. Or maybe I can shrink me to 1/18th size and drive the model.

I have the NOAH cover and I belived I paid about $163 for it (I could check my AMEX bill but I am just checking in). I am very pleased with it as it survived last winter. I have heard, however, that the new weathershiel product surpasses the NOAH.

Good Luck!!

Let's Go Yankees (yeah, I hate the designated hitter rule as well).
