It was freezing cold this morning and my car had a very weak start. It almost died on me. Is this due to the cold weather or something else? Thanks for you help.

 

Your car battery can lose more than 50% of its power when its cold out and your engine requires more energy to start in the cold ... Doesn't sound like its anything too strange. Just make sure you keep your battery charged up by starting your car often and letting it run for awhile.

 

My car does the same thing. I have had this car 2 years and every time its cold out it starts really weak or either dies once if I dont rev it up good.

 

Does sound like the battery, If you replace it I recommend the yellow top Optima battery.

 

It was 13 degrees today when I started my "S"...this is the coldest it will get in Charlotte. My "S" started right up but there was a bit of hesitation just because it was so cold. I guess it's just not used to this type of environment.
