Wear hole in softtop
hello all,
I have searched and I have only found posts from 02. I have an 06 that has just hit the one year mark. I have 16k miles and a brand new 1" slit over the passenger rear corner of the top
. I first noticed it when the top was up and I glanced over my shoulder for a lane change. I saw some light peeking through my top. Gasp
, how is this possible for a one year old car. I have seen simmilar holes depicted on this forum, so I am obviously not the first.
My real question is how many people actually got it replaced under warrenty?
Thanks

When I got the 04 in Oct of that year. It was COMMON at that time. These holes appearing all over the place. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED the salesman and dealership manager about this issue.
"If this happens, am I covered"
without question, YES was the answer

Had mine replaced under warranty after two years. Of course I was the sales manager at the time and just told the service manager to get it ordered and replaced.
Oh by the way. If any of you do have your top replaced, make sure the tech throws mats all over the sills. They have to climb all over the interior as well as take out the seats to do the job right. I noticed two scratches in the plastic trim around the doors afterwards and had those replaced as well.
The new top has lasted much better. I beleive there was a design flaw in the original tops.
Best of luck to you in your quest to have it replaced under warranty.
If I can make a suggestion....If the dealer says no contact Honda U.S. A little bitching to the top goes a long way.
