The top motor only weighs about 7 lbs if I remember correctly. Hardly worth removing.

Amuse titanium exhaust----12lbs stock----50lbs

Amuse carbon fiber hood----5.29lbs stock ----????

Amuse carbon fiber trunk---???? stock ----????

Amuse titanium headers----4.4lbs stock----37.48lbs

Wheels
a)Stock front ---- 16X6.5 ---- 17.5lbs
Stock rear ---- 16X7.5 ---- 18.6lbs
b)volks te37 ---- 16X7 ---- 11.2lbs
c)Spoon SW388 ---- 16X7 ---- 12.9lbs

Seats
a)Recaro Pro Racer 99
http://www.nascarplace.com/recaro/itm01316.htm
b)SPA recaro seat
http://www.nascarplace.com/recaro/itm01114.htm
---- weight ---- 4.5 kg total(both weigh the same)
c) stock
---- weight ---- ????

Brake system
Not sure as Porsche doesn't have one for our application and we need 18 inch wheels for the turbo's ceramic rotors clearance.

Suspension
Various tuners make aluminium coilover kits for the S2000, Mugen is one. There will be weight savings here in unsprung weight, same as the wheels.

These are the lightest stuff available right now as far as I know for the S2000. If you have the money, go for it. You only live once and you get to keep the original N/A spirit of the S2000.

It's 10 lbs less per King.

8.36 lbs is sweet. I would get it if it wasn't so loud. Here in Cali they are so anal about loud exhausts.

Well, I can't speak for living in Cali, however here in Texas, I drive by cops all the time & I've never once got pulled over for "excessive exhaust noise." Are they that anal bout' it b/c I might be moving to Cali & I'd hate to remove my exhaust just b/c it's too loud?

I got hassled by cops with a RS*R exhaust on my old teg, and those things are as quiet as aftermarket mufflers come. Some cops think it's too loud some don't. One one cop ticketed me for having a lowered car. It wasn't because it was too low, he said it was too bouncy to be safe. I had Neuspeed sport springs and Tokico adjustable shocks. You know how those ride, they are firmer than stock so they'll bounce off undulations in the road. While stock suspension set up just absorbs the imperfections on the road. Some cops are just real mod haters, but not all of them.

Thanks for the suggestions. This is definitely not a cheap mod. i didn't know Recaro seat goes for $2,600 apiece.. i thought the stock seats are also Recaros. Huge weigh savings though. The amuse exhaust sounds tempting but i'm not sure about that single barrel look. I'll do the brake rotor mod if there's actual stopping improvement. From a cost/pound standpoint, I'll probably go with an HKS for a small weight, sound, and look gain, keep the spare home, and stay away from greasy burgers.

$2600 for 1 Recaro seat? Man I had no idea they were so expensive. I guess CF is the reason. I think Mugen seats are like $1250 w/seat rails. I think the seat weighs like 12.76 lbs + whatever the seat rails weigh. I'm thinking you'll only save maybe 11 lbs per seat.

No one ever talks about the side impact beams in our doors.

I believe they are good for a few hundred lbs. At the price of side impact protection.

I wouldn't recomend this mod for someone who plans to drive the car on the street.
