Does anyone know?

I was reading about the Mega Monster Miata, which has a Ford 5.0, T5 tranny, and thunderbird rear end. They said the V8 was something like 150lbs heavier than the Miata's iron block inline 4, and the T5 was actually 50lbs LIGHTER than the miata transmission.

I know the weight of the engine... "326 lbs without accessories". Whatever that means. That is from the dealer service book.

Heavier than I thought. The smallest domestic V8 would be a small block Ford, with aluminum heads would weight about 400 lbs without accessories.

Same thing I thought Chris, and curiously the booklet also states that is "one of the lightest four cylinder powerplants in production". Oh well.
