weird CLUNK noise from exhaust?
Is it OEM exhaust?
I don't have the clunk you describe but I did have a rattle type noise that I would hear when shutting the car off and closing the doors (this was with new Spugen exhaust installed, not OEM ). It turned out the be the heatshield just a tad too close and fixed by bending it out of the way.

Did you wash your car recently or perhaps do you park your car outside. The rotors tend to rust and cause a clunk noise when driven the first time after the rust appears. I get this all the time after I wash my car and let it sit awhile. Its been misty in the morning in Souther Cal lately and this is perhaps your problem?
It is OEM exhaust.
S2KenC, I don't think you read my problem correctly, this happens when I close the trunk or start the car...never heard it when shutting down. This usually happens when the car hasn't been running.
Ninegrand - sounds like ur problem is my problem? where is this heatshield close to the exhaust at?
Thanks,
Jeff

Actually I find it hard to belive with the OEM it could/would do what you describe...But, mine was the heatshield above the cat.
Might be easiest to leave the car on the ground and shake the exhaust to see if you can repeat the noise. If you can't then it must be something else..?
