Default Weird rearview mirror question

OK, weird question. I had to get the windshield replaced in my 2003 AP1. After the replacement I noticed that I couldn't get my fingers between the top of the mirror and the overhead dome/map light housing. Specifically on the right side of the mirror. On the left side I can, because that side is closer to the windshield.

But, I can't really remember if I could before anyway! I think they mounted the mirror a little higher on the windshield. It's sort of a drag cause it's hard to see squat out of the back window anyway.

Can some of you guys check your own and tell me what you think? Of course, you've got to have the original windshield.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah, I put that in there so I didn't get a bunch of responses from people who don't have it. Believe me, it would have happened. And, I'm sure they wouldn't have mentioned it...

So...how about your windshield S2000maniac?

Mine is like that too. Oem glass puts the mirror a mm's lower.

So you've had the window replaced and you've noticed that the mirror is higher? And you remember on the OE window you could get your fingers in there?

Do replacement windows come with a marking or something to tell the installer were to put the mirror? Are they easily moved once they are installed?

Just went to check: mine is definitely the same way. I have the original OEM glass.

Wouldn't tilting the mirror move it closer or farther from the dome light? I'm confused by what you are asking.

OK. Normally when you adjust your rear view mirror you use your right hand and grab the right side of the mirror (unless you're in Japan, England or Austrailia). I just noticed that I can't grab the mirror on the top of the right side of it cause my fingers won't fit between the top of the mirror and the dome light. I have to grab the mirror on the right side itself.

It's not that I care exactly wear I have to grab it, it's just that it seems that it's mounted a little higher than before. As you know, in the S2000, it's already hard to see out the back window all the way down the road (to watch for cops you know), so having it mounted higher makes it worse. I've gotta scrunch down more.

Problem is I can't really remember what it was like before!
