Welcome to the new site
I like the new site.
However, I must say that I hated it for awhile.
It was very hard to get used to....bad learning curve.
Once I found everything (ok, most things), this site just got a lot better
Thank you guys for all the hard work.

Thank you guys for all the hard work.
The only real complaint that i have is that it seems to be much slower than the old board was.
The new software served a page 172,241 bytes big.
The old software served a page 159,553 bytes big.
Thats a 12866 byte difference or 9% larger.
There are a couple extra graphics in the header which add an additional 14000 or so bytes. Those images can be optimized a bit which should make the difference about 8000 bytes more for the new graphics.
So in pure site overhead there is between 14KB and 26KB more data per page for the new site vs. the old. On my cable modem I notice no speed difference but modem users might see additional times for loading between 3 and 8 seconds on a 28.8Kbps modem. None of this includes avatar images which you should disable.
For modem users I recommend going to My S2000 -> Edit Options -> Thread View Options and reduce the amount of graphics you load and the number of posts you load per page until you are satisfied with the speed. We will keep trying to tweek the size of pages by optimizing the HTML tags to be a few and small as possible. That's an ongoing project and will only produce marginally smaller pages (it's pretty well optimized now).
To all involved in the upgrade:
This was a job _very_ well done. The look and feel, all of the feature enhancements, and the mods to the layout make the site more professional and usable. And to think that the site was down for only one day!
Great job.

I had visited often before, as I was gathering info before purchasing
and now just signed up.
I think the site is
First Class! Keep up the great job. Don't let the negative comments get you down. Often people just want to stick with what they know, and resist change. Not to mention that generally people are vocal about what they don't like. Those that like it are too busy cruisin around and enjoying the new look.
Thanks again,
Kevin

It's called an avatar. Click My S2000 and look at your profile. You can set it there.
There's no option for it
