Welcome "No Rain" to the group!
Well, I went and traded my '97 Mustang GT in on a brand spankin new Yellow Stook tonight. Never thought it would be so easy to do. I sent out requests for quotes to 3 dealers yesterday via the internet and found a dealership here that sells ALL colors at MSRP. The other 2 dealers both initially quoted at $4000 over MSRP and the one I bought from quoted MSRP right off the bat. BTW, all 3 dealers have them in stock...one had around 8 in stock. I actually ended up getting mine, which I've dubbed "No Rain", a little below MSRP
I've got a few questions though. When I was driving it home tonight I noticed a lot of people flashing their high beams at me, as if I had mine on, which I did not. Does anyone else get this a lot? Are my lights aimed high or is it just those HID bulbs that are causing all the people to be angered at me for blinding them?
Also, about retracting the top. I've read somewhere on here about something called a Miata roll. What is it and what does it look like(No funny pictures please
) and where do I get one for how much? I take it that it is supposed to stop the plastic rear window from getting a crease in it? Also, is there any special care besides this for the top and rear window that anyone suggests.
Finally, what is the most mileage anyone on here has on their stook and have you had any problems with yours. If you had problems, at what mileage did they occur?
I think that's it for now. I'll get the pictures in my sig soon, as I'm sure none of you know what this car looks like

You can make your own Miata roll for about $5 and 10 minutes. Get some PVC pipe and PVC pipe insulation at Home Depot. Cut to length and then put the insulation on the pipe. If you want a finished look, get some nice soft material and a sew a little bag for it to drop in.
Your HID's are what is making everyone think you've got your high beams on. Don't sweat it.

HIDs are normal.
I remember the first night I drove my S. Lady in front of me got real pissed. She moved to the right lane, hit the brakes got behind me, flashed her high beams, pulled up in the left lane, passed me with her hand out the window giving me the bird.
Funniest thing!
But what really pissed her off was that I showed her what my high beams were really like. Boy was she pissed.
What a memorable night.

Yeah, I was coming home on a fairly high speed road (50MPH speed limit) and I was only going 55 when the person in front of me slowed to a crawling 35 and I was in a passing zone, so I took it around them and after I got past they flashed their high beams at me. Then after I got home I took my brother out for a ride and on the way back someone else flashed their highs at me. I REALLY flashed my highs at them to let them know they weren't on. Guess I'll just have to remember when someone flashes me that I'll have to really show them the true power of the force

An excellent alternative to the Miata tube is a simple terrycloth towel. Before lowering your top, tuck the towel under the top where it overlaps the outside of the rear window on three sides (top and either side). The towel protects against scratches and makes any creasing temporary. After 15k miles my window is still like new.
Get a Muz mat for the top well to protect the inside of the window from getting scratched. The plastc top well is notorious for scratching the inside of the window. Welcome to the S2K experience, Whoop-Jack.
