Default Well,it couldn't last forever....finally a door ding

I bought my 00 AP1 in October. I could have found a cheaper car, but I paid a little extra for this one because it appears to have been well maintained, including the body and paint which were nearly perfect. The only real blemish was a small scratch on the hood that I was going to address this spring. My S2k shares a two stall garage with my wife's Accord. I try to park as far to one side as I can to give her extra room to put the kids in a out of the car.

To be honest, when it comes to cars and car care she doesn't pay much, if any, attention. When parking her car at the mall for example, she will squeeze her car in between two SUV's which are each parked right on the line closest to our car just so she doesn't have to walk as far. I will also mention, mainly because I like bringing this up to her, that 2 months ago she curbed her Accord so badly in a parking lot (@ 2 mph no less) while making a right hand turn that she crushed in the rocker panel just in front of the right rear wheel. Basically the rear wheel had to have been off the ground, it was a high curb. She basicially just kept pressing on the accelerator and drug the car across the curb until the rear tire finally hit the curb and jumped up over it. Now on to the story, and the S2K comes into the picture.

I pull into the garage after driving her car, the light was just right and what do I see, a door ding in the S2K that had to have been put there by her. Since I bought the car in Oct, it has only been driven and parked elsewhere a couple of times, and I park out in the middle of nowhere. I can tell from the location and height of the ding that it came from her car. I can do a little crime scene recreation and prove that :-)

If I had wedged myself into a tight parking spot at the grocery store, I would understand/expect this sort of thing. However, I was assuming I would be safe in my own garage.

I'm not even going to mention it because somehow it will be 100% my fault. I plan to go buy the ugliest door guard trim I can find and put it on her car. I also plan to purchase a Q300 Dual exhaust for the S in attempts to make ammends with the car :-)

Complaining over.........

ask around your local area for a good dent wizard repair place they can usually work wonders depending on where the ding is

it is on the right rear quarter. right on the crease in the wheel arch. Not sure if it can be fixed there, but I will take it somewhere and check.

If you're not already doing this - back into your garage, with the passenger side all the way right up next to the wall.. That should give you extra space in the middle of the garage

I park on the side where my wife can't open her door into the S; she can only open her door into the wall. Sorry to hear about the ding.

sure you can take a ding out of any color. its the specific location, like say along a body line, that can keep them from being able to get it out

I agree ... the paintless dent wizards do great work...... you won't even know it is there....

Change sides of the garage with the wife's car so she doesn't have an opportunity to ding you again...

Just remember..... your marriage is worth more than the S2000 (can't believe I just said that!).....

Honda sheetmetal dings if you sneeze too hard. My Hondas always have significantly more door dings than my domestic vehicles, there is a difference in the metal they use.
