Default Well-driven S2000

I hear all these people talk about how s2000 is fast only if driven right. What is it that you have to do to well-drive our s2000?? Is it the perfect launch? Or is it the perfect shifting? I dont get it. How do you squeeze the max performance out of this thing??? Sorry if this post is confusing......I'm confused myself......

Probably refers more to how it's driven in the twisties than straight line speed. Although it is fast in a straight line, she really shows her stuff in the corners.
Basically, learn how to heel toe shift and get the most from the power band. Take a driving course. There you will learn the basics of driving fast through the corners. If driven well, there aren't a whole lot of cars that can hang.
Just remember, that stuff doesn't belong on the street. Too easy to get loose and end up with an insurance claim.

Take it to a drag strip first, then an AutoX and end at a track. Do over and over and over and learn for yourself!

I personally think it's bullshit. I think it's just a way for people to promote the car. In reality, better driving will always mean faster driving (especially around corners). The only truth in "S2000 is fast only if driven right" is that most people don't and cannot push the car to its limits. The car can "go faster" than many owners are capable of doing. The S2K does have a lot of potential. It's a great car. It really is an enthusiast's car. You need to be good to take advantage of what the car is capable of. That is all. A fast car is a fast car. Only that the better you are the faster you can go.

Agreed, the S2000 is easier to drive, especially handling.

I disagree. This car has plenty of traits that make it more challenging to get fast laps than some lesser cars.

joe_s2k:
You really should try a driving school. Drag strip and AutoX are pale in comparison.

but it is a lot more expensive too.
