Default well...finally opened her up..

the S2000 that is ...is it just me or is it in higher gear when you get into VTEC it's not as noticibly loud as the lower gears in vtec.....5-6 gear is kinda low drowned? is this pretty normal? or still "breaking" in?

I feel VTEC is not as big a kick in the pants in higher gears compared to lower. Kind of more fun to get into VTEC and then try to keep it there through the gears. Makes you go really really fast though!

I think part of the reason you dont feel the big kick of vtec in the higher gears is because it is already in vtec. I'm pretty sure for the AP2s, that the 1-2 shift drops you below 6K and out of vtec. I think (someone correct me here if I'm wrong) the 2-3 also drops you a hair under vtec. From 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6, the tach stays above 6k-vtec still engaged.

AP2s can stay in VTEC througout all the gears.

(Thats what I read in previous threads at least)

Its still breaking in........when you get a about 3500 to 4000 miles on the engine

it gets a lot louder.......and Vtec is alot stronger....

anyone know when i am in 6 gear doing 65mph, can i drop it to 4th without hitting red line..btw this is ap2. or even 3rd?

Yup, sure can!! The only reason I know is because the AP2 0-60 run is complete once you shift to 3rd- to get that extra 2 or 3 mph.
