Well, it's about effing time!
After two months of waiting and a whooooooooole lot of lurking on this board, I finally picked up my 2002 Sebring silver/black S with hardtop this morning! Hol-lee
. I haven't really even gotten to play with it properly yet, I am just taking it easy until I get a feel for it and break it in, but I have still had a blast just crusing around Houston this morning. Of course, we are due to get rain all week, so I might not get to properly enjoy it for a few days.
After I decided on the Sebring silver, I had my doubts over the last few weeks after looking at pictures of other colors, especially Berlina black. You know, the whole "grass is greener" thing. But once I walked up to my S this morning...wow, it has been said a lot, but pictures really do not do the Sebring silver color justice. It just looks stunning, and the hardtop really completes the look of the car. My only initial complaint is a very common one...the stereo is pretty blah, but that will easily be fixed with my first upgrade of some rear speakers and some new door speakers.
I know these threads get old, but it's just great to finally be a proper part of the board. I will get some pictures soon when it isn't so damn cloudy and sprinkling rain!

I drive on Hwy 59 all of the time (inside the loop on the west side of town). And then I also like to drive around downtown and the Kirby/Shepherd areas a lot as well. I will try to make it to one of the get togethers at some point, but I do drive out of town a lot on the weekends.
Thanks, guys! I just got back from a wonderful nighttime drive around Houston, just getting a feel for the car. Now, I'm only 24, so I'm not one of those people that has driven Z06s and Vipers or what have you but I still would like to say wow...wow, wow, wow. This car just fits me like a glove. I am almost 6' 3" but I am so comfortable in it. I wish I could put a sign in the window that says, I'm sorry, I'm still breaking this in, because I just feel like a schlub when I am shifting at 5k RPM in this car. Only 530 more miles to go...keeping self control is hard. I should be able to drive my friends' M3 and WRX in a few weeks for comparison.
Oh well, as I was exiting the freeway I saw a horrendously riced-out Civic with a huge, ugly GT wing that had gotten pulled over by the fuzz. That just completed my night, it's about time they made that illegal...

As promised, here are a few pics of the new toy:

They aren't the world's best shots, it has just been very cloudy lately. I will take some more if anybody else is interested, hopefully in a better location with better lighting.

I don't understand...sarcasm? If it's because of the "ebay" portion in the URL, it's just the place on my webserver where I stick junk pics like this...I have in the past hosted my ebay pics in this place. Check out just the IP address...it's the shell of my corporate website (and quite shoddy I might add, we're working on it).
