Congrats on your lovely purchase. Welcome to the sebring/black club. If you have questions, just ask. I still ask tons of questions till this day and I've been on this board for a year and only had my car since May/June. When you come out to a G2G, get to gether, let me know so I can check our your hardtop.

Sure thing...I have been lurking on the Houston local forum for a while, I will definately try to make a G2G soon since a few fellow Houstonians seem to be interested in the hardtop!

I really like the way your hardtop looks. I didn't think it would look that good in Sebring. Now you've got me thinking....

I really think that the hardtop accentuates every color...I think it is almost essential. Well, I guess it depends where you live. I wasn't really excited about getting a convertible until I saw that the hardtop was an option. The summers in Houston are so hot, and the winters so rainy, I just wanted to have the versatility to basically choose whether I wanted to drive a coupe or a convertible on any given day. Visibility is just so much better too. I took a test drive initially with the soft top up, and it took some real getting used to only having that little window in the back. With the hardtop, my visibility is actually better than my old '94 Prelude (due to the huge rear pillars it has). The only true blind spot left is over my shoulder on the driver's side. As long as you are observant, and take a peek all the way around every once in a while, it is not a problem.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to drive much yesterday as it rained heavily, and is raining a lot today as well. It looks like things are clearing up significantly this afternoon and for the next few days, so I should be getting some more serious driving time in.

Sebring/black S2000 with hardtop

For Xmas this year, ask Santa for a garage :-) I would lose all of my hair if I had to park mine outside:-)

Thanks for posting the pictures. I have an '02 Silver S2K too, and have not seen one close up enough to know what the hard top would really look like. Now if I can just afford one.....

So here is a question for the folks who have a hard top: When it is removed, is there mounting points for the top that are visible? What does the top mount to? I want a hard top, but if I have to drill holes etc. to make it work, I will just baby my soft top.

Thanks!

Well, actually it is covered parking at least and pretty far away from the street in a nice neighborhood. Also, I keep a Weathershield weatherproof car cover on it when it is idle just to keep off dust and bugs and such. A real garage would be nice so I could build a hoist for the hardtop, but I'll manage until I move until a bigger house.

Well, just a few more impressions after having this car for just over a week. I still haven't gotten to drive as much as I would have liked, so I'm still in the break-in period. Getting very close to the end, but not quite yet. The only other minor thing I have found so far is some wind noise near the driver's side window when going about 60+ mph with the hard top on, but to be honest I always have the radio pumping so it doesn't really bother me.

Here are a few new pics of the car with two coats of Zaino on it. You can read more about my experiences in the Wash and Wax forum...I will put another couple of coats on next week:
