Default Well, Stewie met a curb today.. :(

Long story short, the S slid the left rear tire into a curb at about 20-25mph. I have pictures of the damage and I'm looking for information/insight on what's going on in the wheel-well. I had it towed back to the house and when I got it into the garage I started it up and put it in first. It would creep just fine. I see three noticeable damaged areas so far;

- The arm that connects to the ball-joint is snapped clean off.

- There's a ripped cable.

- The rear axle cover is kind of scrunched up.

- The frame and everything else looks straight and perfectly intact.

Other than repairing the above, I definitely need a 4-wheel alignment and some new rear tires. Money's kind of scarce so I fear the S2K, which is my DD, may be out of commission for a while. Plus it's gonna' take a little while to get enough money to tow it somewhere and get it thoroughly inspected. . Hope not, but what can you do. I should have took my girlfriend's car today.

Onto the Pics;

Anyways, give me your opinions on what you guys think is damaged via the pics.

Thanks again,
David.

the broken cable is your ABS sensor; the car will be fine without it, provided you can drive without ABS. I'd replace the upright and upper and lower control arms, then have it aligned. if anything else is damaged, the alignment procedure should reveal it.

The wheel may also be bent. put it on the other side and spin it. any wobble will be immediately visible.

Can I replace the upright, upper, and lower control arms myself? Is it a possible DIY job with basic tools?

And what's that broken piece that's supposed to connect to the ball-joint?

I always think of Family Guy when someone writes "Stewie" as well.

Lol. I figure if the S2K was a person, it would act a lot like Stewie.. and be the same size haha

So is there anything here that I can fix myself?

I'd be worried on just about all the components on that side including the diff and axle. Good luck with the fix man, I feel your pain.
