but... there was no kick like everyone talks about. the B16 in my CRX, when in VTEC you knew it... with all the talk about oil change causing lower VTEC "feel", I was thinking I'd feel it for sure... nothing. Oil pressure is fine, temp is definately up to normal operating range... nothing... cause was louder, but then revving past 6000 even without VTEC would make it louder... :-/ maybe just needs time...

Are you over 600 miles on the odo yet? If so, try taking it to 7 or 8k rpm and you'll feel it alright ...

shingles, first time I did it, I didn't feel much either. Once the car gets over 1000 miles though, it should be very pronounced. Now when I get over 6k, the sound changes a lot, and the power increases quite noticeably. Other members have said that the car keeps getting stronger with more mileage til about 5k miles.

Jay is right...as the car breaks in and everything gets used to working together, the engine becomes even more powerful and exhilarating. VTEC is 4th and 5th (not that *I* would know what is like ) is noticeable.

Get some more miles on it, but in the meantime, go out and check your oil now...just to make sure that it's OK. That will have an effect on VTEC.

I gave Sime a ride around Gingerman yesterday and he said that my car was 'noticeably' faster...be patient.

shingles - Did you have it floored? Just letting it rev over 6K under limited throttle doesn't do much. Mash it. In any event, the extended power curve is great fun.

The other posters are right. At 600 miles I felt a mild pull .....at 1,500 miles it is a definite pull that puts you back in the seat. Can't wait for 5,000 miles to feel the "Force" at full maturity.

Thanks everyone... yes it was floored... but I'll just wait a little longer.

About oil... I checked... it's interesting... didn't burn oil for the first 2 weeks, but in the last 3 days, it burned about 1.5 "x"... weird...
