i mean no offense to the cars or owners, i own one myself. but the wrx, sti, evo are all (thuroughly) warmed over econoboxes. the s2000 is a true sports car from the ground up. what it lacks in power and torque, it makes up for with quicker reflexes, lighter weight, and of course, the ability to cruise topless.
EVO VIII: turbo, awd, boosted econo-box, good for the street, the track, dragging, cruising, winter, etc.... simply amazing!
S2K: light-weight, high-reving NA, 2 seater, convertible
Each car with its inherent strenghts and weaknesses.
I think, functionnally, the EVO VIII is a better and faster car in many aspects for that price.
Reason why I'm chosing the S2K over the EVO: better looks (yes, I'm THAT much shallow.....)
Even if an Toyota Echo sedan would be a 10-second car, I'd never buy cause I think it's ugly.

P.S.: by looks, i meant what I personnaly thought of it, not chicks or anything, though it is a plus if they do like it.......
I like the Evo alot, but I feel no emotion behind the design, unlike our car or a NSX. No excitement.
Even the g35 coupe/sedan grabs my attention more than the Evo, I'm confident a test drive will change things though....

It is so easy to get sucked into go fast straight crack pipe.
Take them to the road track and watch who sucks.
I had no problem pulling away from EVO at Mid Ohio.
Don't stoop down to their level. Stop light racing is retarded.

I had the chance to buy the Evo before I bought the S2. Matter of fact I was really close to buying the Evo because of the mod easy engine, all year round function, and great looks until I found out that Mitsu was going under! The Evo is a great car, no one can argu that! The 4G63 has been in production for a while and has been revised and tuned over the years to perfection. Its an engine that can generate great hp gains with simple boltons and with all wheel drive for the New York winter months I was really close. But now Mitsu is barely staying afloat after the US Government gave them a fedaral grant. Where are the Evo owners going to be when they really go belly up? ANSWER, right to the Honda dealer
. Beside that, there are way too many differences in the two. I love the S2, and Im glad now that I purchased it instead of the Evo. The Evo might have it all together in the straight line, but take the Evo on the twisties
