Let's see - Mitsubishi Evo- (translated Jap Dodge neon on steriods with a case of Auomobile leprosy - parts just keep falling off) or

Honda S2000 - (translated 9K rev street legal race machine cousin of the Acura NSX)

Gee - real hard choice - not!
i thought it was the little brother?

This thread is pretty funny. The first post was about S2000s getting trashed on the Evo boards and then the remaining posts do EXACTLY what the first post criticized: All the S2K guys trashing Evos.

I have both - an '03 Evo VIII and an '04 S2000. I love them both. They are just two COMPLETELY different cars. To compare them (here or on Evo boards) is silly.

As for all of the positives about S2000s, I agree (well except for the "it gets chicks" part - if you need a car to get you dates, well... ). As for the criticisms, some are valid, primarily in S2000 owners thinking a stock S2000 is a lot faster than it is. An Evo will clean an S2000's clock - no question. Just accept it.

That said, the S2000 is much better built, has more class, etc.

A note about the Evos and "parts just falling off". This doesn't happen. I have almost 30,000 miles on mine, lots of mods, lots of "spirited" driving, etc. It is still as tight as Day One. Accept the Evo for what it is: A fast, focused machine that puts more emphasis on driving fun than a quality interior.

Last point: The wing IS functional at speeds over 86 mph. I know Rhys Millen and we talked about the wing. During their "test" on the freeway sans wing, the rear became spookily unstable. It definitely functions - in fact, the vortex generator (those little shark tooth fins) functions very well, too. The latest HyperRev has an illustration of the CFD with and without the VG.

Enjoy the fact that we can have such a great selection of incredible cars!!!!

stock for stock it's a lot closer than you might think. both cars are low 14 second cars. when i drove my friends evo i cut a 1.8 60 foot time (good launch), redlined every gear, and every shift was clean and fast and the car ran a 14.1. that's right there with an s2k.

now start modding either car, and the evo has the clear cut advantage when it comes to making easy power.

yes. both cars have strengths and weaknesses. both cars were built to satisfy different needs.

after reading the first page.. this is definately getting my vote for the dumbest thread ever... I've severly lost brain cells from reading some of these narrow minded opinions and sad to be owning the same car with some of you people..

=) I think the idea of starting a dumb ass thread like this is even more ridiculous then any of the replies. It's clearly an effort of a troll to get all of us going and serves no real purpose but to provoke people to get ticked off and let it fly. I think your time would be better spent deleting this thread then replying to it.

Vote to delete this crazy worthless thread from the depths of s2ki

I haven't read the other one - that one just sounds like it would be funny.

This one on the other hand is a bit on the serious side, and I can't tell what is good information and what isn't.
