what are...
seriously, if someone wants to make another damn post about how the "S2000 isn't a drag car", then do me a favor. when you're done with your little speech, turn your soap box over, and hand it to me, so I can puke in it.
that said. Your time is ok. 14.3 isn't the best, though if it was your first time at the track that's decent. The best drivers will be in the 13's. average, IMO, is 14.0-14.2. Bring that 60' time down, and you'll see 13's no problem.

"Someone explain to me why people buy this car and drag it?"
I have not taken my s2k down to the drag strip yet but I plan on doing so. I am not taking it to the track because I think it is a "drag" car, but to see how well I can drive the car.
Lets say for example:
You were in a "slow/not for drag" car, and some third party estimated the 1/4 mile time at 16.00 seconds. (Even though you might get some laughs for running your slow car) If you run 16.00 (all things equal), then you should be pretty happy with the way you drove the car.

Ive seen cars run 18 19 even 22 second quarters, why not drag the s2k. ive never dragged my car because its not my thing but if you own the car then why not drive the hell out of it and enjoy.

I agree
You wanted a response, and so you got it. And now you're all shocked. Next time don't bother posting at all, since your intent was obviously just to get a response like this, and now you're just being catty. Now please, just leave the thread and let it get back on its way. There's no reason it should be locked just because YOU dont agree with what someone else does with THEIR car.
i'm sure you were lurking the forums before you joined. no reason to criticize someone just because you've been posting longer than they have. i may have been posting for 97 days but even i have enough experience to know that.

I have run 14.3 and 14.2 at ~98 with R-comps and exhaust with a 2.1x 60' with my old AP1. That is at a local track that is notorious for having a slight uphill incline at the end which seem to lower your times by a tenth or two compared to other local tracks. I would say that with your better trap speed and your poor launch, you are probably making a bit more peak hp that my car.
I'm a track instructor and autox guy but I usually take my car to the dragstrip 1-2x season just for giggles (since 14 second runs are not really all that fun IMHO) and to watch some of the faster cars. I don't think there is anything wrong with drag racing an S2000, it's just not that fast in a straight line and being beaten by hybrid $5k hatchbacks gets old after a while. But it is fun to watch Z06s and modded STI/EVO running 11s and 12s.
