Default What about RAM Air?

With all the threads related to hoods vented and non-vented, why hasn't anyone created a ram air hood with air filter kit?

What I would envision is a carbon fiber hood that has an air opening directly in line with the throttle body. Now of course you can't use the stock air intake system but would need a custom system developed with the appropriate reusable filter and water catch.

SS Camaros' and Fire Hawks or birds or chickens have this already.

Why not? Seems like everyone out their is designing tons of vents into their hoods, which makes the S look like a fish.

Just an idea.

One of these days, when I get enough GUTS, I'll get the duct insert from another car (maybe a Viper or a Subaru), cut a hole in my hood right over the left side of the filter box and seal up the edges so the air box gets only cool, outside air. Unless somebody beats me to it and mass produces them. It would be a really scary proposition to carve into that beautiful sleek hood, though.

Missed the Kaminari thread.

I don't think I'll actually purchase a hood from Kaminari (that is if I even decide to get one).

I got through half of the entire thread and there is no discussion about water entering the scoop. Is there a plan for that?

It always bothers me that people sell things that they don't even have or have not proven.

There is plenty of discussion of how to deal with water and I think I have the problem solved. Keep reading the thread.
