What ails me?
Is there a Doctor in the house??? I feel that I am suffering from some kind of disease that leaves me dissatisfied whenever I climb from any other vehicle, even a 2008 Corvette, back into the cockpit of my S2000.
I test drove one today with the Z51 suspension and other upgrades. I loved the raw power, size was nice, the aura of being in a Corvette is worth a few extra points. You know people are taking notice when you blast past them at over 100 mph in a black on black Vette.
Yet after handing the keys back to the dealer and getting in the S2000, there is a sense of connection with the car that was missing from the Corvette. I can't describe it in mechanical terms.
All my senses were saying "yes.. this is where you belong."
What is this disease or curse that has befallen me? And who else has this ailment and how do you get over it?

Same. Drove a brand new GTI. Nice torque, love the looks, but when I sit inside my S, it puts a smile on my face immediately.
Same thing with my ex roommates 400whp STi, my parents SL55, and an olderish late 90's 911. All faster than the S without a doubt (at least in acceleration). Not one left me with the same feeling. All fun to drive in their own right and in their own way, but none offered me the same feeling. For a while I chalked it up as owners syndrome, not my car so not the same care. But it wasn't until I drove the STi that I realized it was something different. Even my 30mile commute to work which is 99% straight highway, when I park... there's almost a sense of sadness. Like "awww the rides over already?". There's been many times where I've been more excited to drive to something, than the actual event itself.
I'm positive there's plenty other rides that offer that feeling (Ariel Atom anybody?
) but none that is pricetag, and ownership affordable like the S.
