I've had a few friends have their cars broken into. Let me tell you it's very frustrating, and that they tend to get into a "kill mode", if you know what I mean. Based upon my friends' reactions, I can honestly recommend this alarm, its about $600, but does justice, hehe...

Download that video and watch it in action!

I can see my car burning someone and me going to jail for manslaughter. That alarm is deffinetly not a good idea.

but it says its not illegal yet

I'm just joking about this defense system. Did you see that part where it says "blinds, not kills?" I dont know about them, but after seeing that video, I'd rather die than live if I was a victim .

I called Al & Ed's autosound, but they said that alarm is on backorder. They also recommended me take a drug test.

Concept 600 is a nice alarm. The auto roll up for the windows are the BEST. Disable the day time driving lights (they suck). Great protection, decent price.

My only problem with this is that in order for it to be effective (?), it's got to start yelling before the wouldbe perpetrator get's within arms reach. That means it's going to be sound off any time someone innocently walks by the car in a parking lot. I once heard an alarm system that started with, "WARNING, perimeter violation. The alarm will activate unless you move away from the car in 5....., 4......, 3......, etc." You get the idea. It was polite though. When I moved out of range, the count down stopped and it said, "Thank you!" At the time I thought it was totally ridiculous. I even watched a number of folks repeatedly walk up to the car just to play with it. IMO, if there's one thing an alarm "should not" do is call attention to your vehicle when it's not necessary. In this case, it seemed that the system was screaming, "Here I am, come play with me!"

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with proximity sensors. I particularly like the idea of them when the top is down. It's just that I'm not convinced of their effectiveness in the case of someone who's main intent it to vandalize the car.

FWIW,
