Default What Audio Mod: Rear Speakers or Subwoofer?

Seems like the rear speakers will fill the cabin better, but I am a bass maniac and may want to go with a sub in the trunk. If I put in rear speakers, I will also put stronger fronts in and an amp....

I went with a subwoofer in the trunk ( Bazooka). I wish now that I had gone with rear speakers. The thing is, different driving conditions affect sound levels and tonal quality. The subwoofer is nice at times, but I think the rear speakers would give better overall quality in all driving conditions. Honda makes a subwoofer that is low profile and fits under the passenger seat. Happy listening!

Bass maniac = subwoofer(s), no way around it. If you're getting a sub you'll also be getting an amp, so plan on it also powering a better set of front speakers. The OE speakers are better suited at some sort of magnetic frisbee game than they are at making sound. If you do a search on "subwoofer" or "stereo", you'll find lots of information on different setups people have used, to varying degrees of success. Also dig through the "electronics" forum, lots of great stuff there.

Best of luck!
