Default what is bad for this type of driving?

i went out today and rode around the xr50 at a parking lot. i didnt do wheelies cuz i ate shit the other day doing it on my friends street and i was wearing slippers. needless to say, i looped the bike and now i got a chunk of skin missing from my toe.

well, while i was out at the parking lot, i decided that it would be cool to try some donuts. ive never done them before and since it was a big, bare, parking lot, the opportunity could not get any better. i didnt use my ebrake (didnt know if i was suppose to) to start it, but just turned hard (1st gear) and about mid turn, put the pedal to the metal. the back end broke loose and i was doing circles, figure 8's and also practicing drifting through imaginary cones.

so is this bad for the car in any way. i go to the canyons a lot and keep the revs above 6k, and ive stopped doing clutch dumps from a stop cuz i heard that was really bad for the clutch and the tranny. so do i need to stop drifting and such because i will damage the (fill in the blank) or am only damaging the ground with the tire marks and obviously wearing out my tire.

Well besides the obvious wear on the tires, you could end up slipping the LSD.

hmm, that would be bad. what is the likelyhood of that? and would it be safe to say i can take it to the dealer to say that it broke while the end result for me is a new free lsd?

it's safe to say that they should be able to tell the difference between excessive wear due to driver abuse -vs- catastrophic failure that would justify dealer replacement.

it's also safe to say that you are dishonest.

They'll know one way or another that you abused your car.

omg! what is this... a conscience check?!?! im sure you are living life by the book. why would you need to point out that i am dishonest? are you so holy that you are are not dishonest about anything in your life? are you a law abiding, hard working person?

on another note, thanks for letting me know that they can tell how it was broken. i guess that was a 1 time donut and drift session in a parking lot.

I cant belive you called him dishonest. I work at a dealership and I know how bad my dealerships service department is. how they dont like warranty jobs and try to maximize profit on everything. If your lsd brokes down just go to the dealer ( unles you havea mod which would cause the break down). and tell them something is wrong, they will check and say due to abuse your bla bla is broken will cost you this much. And you make a big deal out of it right there in the dealership. ( dont attack anybody though). Just talk loudyl and ask for the service mangaer if he doesnt give you what you want as for the general manager and start talking aboutthat you will go to corporate and lawyer and law suits and this is horrible ( talk laud enpoug that people in the showroom if its connected like ours will hear you) and while you were buying it dealrehip gave you the warranty and salesman prmised you and they are liars and stuff. It might take you couple times but you will get what you want my firend belive me.

And mr dishonost blamer, next time when you go to a dealership and try 10 different things not to put the amount of down payement thatr the dealership wants and lie to them like that you dont have 2k you only have 1 in the bank, you can call yourself a dishonest person too.

you stand by your words. sure, im dishonest at times. thats not my choice words but if you put it that way then ill go with it. my problem is that your statement is pretty BOLD. calling me dishonest in general is very disturbing.

have you always told the truth? accepting responsibility and seeing what you can get away with is not in the same category in my book. i know i would have caused the failure in my lsd but wouldnt anyone try to go to the dealership to see if they will give you a new one. maybe they will if you hoot and holler enough. maybe you wont even have to do that. maybe they will be nice and give you a hassle-free repair. is it so wrong to take your car in and tell them its acting up? what i do after that could put me into dishonest category if i say i wasnt "abusing" it. what if it would have broken today? would that be considered dishonest on my part to say i wasn't abusing it? i mean, how will i know when it will go out? is there somekind of 100% guarantee that any mechanical or electrical part on my car will not fail at any given time? what if it under the circumstanses it did break today. am i suppose to just say i broke this because i was doing donuts today in the parking lot or should i be a little mad that it did break when you pay 30k+ for a so called performance car? this is getting pointless. if you can honestly say you live a 100% clean, honest life, then amen to you. those people are few and far between but hey, who know, you could be one of them.

I love it.

Person mentions doing something dishonest and asks if we think it'd be possible.
Someone points out the dealership will probably be able to tell, and reminds person that they'd be dishonest to do it.
Person acts all offended.

Some people here definitely need to relax. Not everything that is said on these forums should be taken as a personal attack on your character.

"what if it goes out today?" well you stressed the crap out of it with your antics so it certainly wouldn't be a total surprise if it failed at some point in the near future from the extra strain and wear you put on it already.

No matter what, it's irrelevant to make excuses to be dishonest, which is all you seem to want to do. Instead of getting all defensive and trying to think up complicated reasons to lie, what's so hard or wrong about telling the truth?

The phrase "you have to pay to play" seems to apply oh-so-often around here. In your case, if you want to pull goofy antics in your car you have to be ready to accept the consequences it might cost you.
