Default What is the best RPM to launch at???

A question for the track guys.... What is the best rpm to launch at to give the best 0-60 & 1/4 mile time?

Not less than 10,000 RPM. Anything below that and the car bogs horribly.

Well if you wanted to do a Gtech test or if you were running an autocross. What rpm would you go with? Yeah you would not want to do this all the time, but if you wanted the best run possible what gives you the best time?

So far one vote for 6k and one for 10k.....

Clutch wear and tear is not a problem

If clutch wear and tear is not a problem, try 19,000 rpm. You will fly off the line, and so will the engine.


Haha, just kidding. I still think 6000 is the best .

6k. You go much higher and you'll deal with a lot of traction loss in the rear, unless you change your tires.

If I launch my car at 6k my clutch slips and I get no wheel spin whatsoever, just the nice stench of burning CLUTCH!!! This isn't normal is it?

I slip my cluth at 6k+, but it's stock running FI. If you're concerned with it you may want to look into an aftermarket solution.
