I have been researching just for the sake of shits and giigle the tires for the stook. There is a big price range. I love the stock tires actually..and it seems like these seem to be one of the betters. Just wanted to know your opinions.

 

The OEM tires are very good tires already.. If you want something for track.. Try Toyo RA1, Yokohama 032, Kumho V500...

 

Try the Michelin Pilot Sport Tires. 205/55/ZR16 on front and 245/45/ZR16 on the rear. Some drivers like the quieter, more confortable ride than the stock S02's.

 

I'm noy looking for racing tires- thats not my gig.

Just looking for the best tires that I can afford. Is there anything better than stock for the $$$???

 

I think all tires for the S2000 are expensive, and the Michelin Pilot Sports are no exception. However, they should last longer than the S02's and provide a better ride. They just aren't designed for hard driving like the S02's. Try doing a search on tires to get other opinions. There have been lots of posts about tires.

 

I have no big experience on this - but watching F1 each week proves that different circumstances suit different tyres - so no one is really best - my choice is then to choose the best looking tyre for the money - my favourite is the Pirelli P7000 -

 

I like my AVS Sports (at least better than OEM)

 

Kuhmo 712's... about 8/10ths the performance for 4/10ths the price with double the wear... They are the best price for performance alternative. Having said that, my next tires will probably be S-03's on 17 inch rims, with dedicated race(autox) tires on the stock rims.

 

<kicking self in ass> Do NOT get the Dunlop SP 9000's. Sure, they may have better tread wear, but they squeal like a red-headed stepchild, and don't even compare to stock. </kicking self in ass>
