Default What brace is worth it?

WOW!

I've been following up with these awesome ideas for different mods from the other thread.

One thing that I couldn't find too much info on was the differences in manufacture or materials on the X-Braces available for the s2k.

Also, the advantage of a strut tower brace with or without an X-brace.

I've seen many DIFFERENT ones offered through dealers, a local shop and on e-bay.

Any thoughts?

I also did a search on X-Braces, as I too am in the market for one.
I am very interested in the Comptech.
I look forward to everyone replies

There are also braces available here from Muz and Rick's Racing.

Although there is information on construction / composition of these braces, I have not found much info (techical or anecdotal) comparing them or any other bracing devices.

Of course, the units on e-bay have hardly any info at all.

Hey, I can weld steel in a general X-shape too! Maybe I should sell these things on e-bay.

Spoon does make one too but it sits right underneath the oil pan so when you unscrew the drain bolt the oil will pour right on top of the brace. If you don't do oil change so you don't have to worry about it.

I'm in the process of order a Spoon from AJR; since its so cheap I'll deal with a few messy oil changes.

The Muz/Whiteline Front Lower Brace is a unique design that braces both laterally and diagonally, does not obstruct oil changes and performs very well all at a good price. It is anodized aluminium and will never rust or suffer problems from stone chips.

It can be ordered here....

New batch arriving this coming week. Advance orders may be placed for those wanting to secure a brace for their car.

FYI the JIC X-brace is identical to Spoon (except for the color white) and can be ordered in our website.

I LOVE my comptech....its a more $$$$ than all the others but light as hell.

IMO youll notice more with an X-brace than you would with an STB
