To clarify (or add to) the confusion, a few more thoughts.

The bar available from Rick's is one solid peice of aluminum (as opposed to welded steel or aluminum) which, I would imagine, is a good thing for a device that is put under twisting / flexing pressures.

Of course, if welded braces broke at the welds, I'm sure that you'd hear about it in this forum.

So I would also guess from the information here on s2ki that the X-Brace would make the biggest difference in steering and handling with less difference for almost the same price being made by a strut brace.

It seems that additional improvements could be made with rear braceing and upgraded sway bars, but that seems to be way down on the list.

I LOVE my comptech....its a more $$$$ than all the others but light as hell.

IMO youll notice more with an X-brace than you would with an STB
Did it make a noticeable difference in your 2004? Can you describe what was different?

I had been figuring that with the added stiffening in the AP2 chassis, I didn't need an aftermarket cross brace; should I be rethinking that?

Installed my Muz brace yesterday. It was the easiest ofall of the projects of the day (snorkle intake, brake paint, decals, QuietCote in transhump, etc) and seems to indeed make a differnce.

Thanks all.
