Remember, this is not so much a mechanical defect as it is an annoyance. There is nothing wrong with the car beyond the annoying noise. The decel buzz, heard between about 5000 RPM down to 3000 RPM is a result of the friction disk hitting a resonance frequency and vibrating. The fix is to replace the friction disk with one that has different spring dampers which no longer resonate.

They would be wrong.

Case in point, the TSB issued by Honda to correct the problem is to replace the friction disk with one that has a new part number.
