Seems like lots of you have had to replace the clutch...... how long should I expect it to last?

Has anyone managed to avoid having to replace the clutch?

I think you will find most clutches have been replaced to cure the noise or gear selection problems. There was a problem with weak springs in the clutch plate, which caused a rattle. This is supposedly fixed with the recent -055 version of the clutch. It seems that Honda will replace the clutch for anyone who complains about the noise. The -055 clutch is a very recent development, so depending on build dates, new cars may still have the -054. IMHO it is too soon to tell if the -055 has actually fixed the design problem.

When Honda changes a gearbox because of selection problems, the clutch is also replaced at the same time.

Basically Honda screwed up big time on the clutch and gearbox, so they will continue to replace them on a regular basis, until they overcome the design and manufacturing problems.

It's very likely to have the new clutch. Just in case, though, you can diagnose it thus:

Drive along in second/third, then when the revs get to about 4500 RPM, come right off the accelerator. Let the car slow to 3000RPM. If you have the duff clutch, you will hear a resonance that sounds a bit like a heat shield or exhaust buzzing/rattling as the car slows.
At one month old, I would be surprised if the rattle had started. IMHO there is a difference between having the new clutch and not having the rattle.
